Rating: - Into the Unknown.....

Rating: - Great ideas, awful characters
The over-arching plot of this book is excellent. It's exactly the sort of Big Idea fiction I expect from Alistair Reynolds, and I'm generally a big fan of his work. I have read other Reynolds novels, and though I greatly admire his ideas, technology, and intricate plots - I must say that I never really care for his characters. It is not that they are not complex with well-defined motivations, I just don't like them - which sometimes makes it hard to turn the next page if you really are not rooting for ... Read More
